The Sky’s The Limit

“For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”

1 Corinthians 15:53

As their exploration of the backyard came to an end, his father asked, "Now what will you do?" "Rest". The young boy replied, “Nope, it’s time to go to the moon!” We too often set low goals. We seek the least amount of achievement possible. Yet, in Christ, we have the greatest achievements at our fingertips if we would just try. You will never know what you are made of until you swing for the fences. When we begin to understand our goals are much farther than here and now, we become more.

We can’t just sit back and shoot for success here on this earth. We must strive for heaven. That pursuit puts us through trials and tribulations that are found nowhere else. The reason why they are so plentiful and so difficult is that we are training for something beyond this known world. The refining of our character received through these trials is out of this world. The mental and emotional maturity that is developed is beyond this universe. Spiritual development is beyond our imagination. What can be achieved in this state? Nothing but unearthly and out of this world achievements, Heaven.

You see, the key is, you must pursue it. “Don’t bunt. Aim out of the park. Aim for the company of immortals,” Ogilvy. It takes the same effort to bunt as it does to hit a home run. You still have to stand in the box, take your stance, pick your pitch, and take a swing at it. The only difference is that bunts are the least amount of swing for the greatest percentage of contact, and to move a player. A home run is a guaranteed run on the scoreboard. You may strike out a lot. It may be challenging. You will have to learn a lot and mature in the process. The achievement that comes from both the pursuit and reaching the goal is incomparable to anything found elsewhere.

There is a group of immortals that lies waiting to enjoy eternity with you. They took chances, made mistakes, and got messy! You can too. Pursue immortality! The company is incredible.
